Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 15
Claim 1
Independent Claim 126 words
A composition which comprises a blend of a chlorine-containing synthetic elastomer and a hardened extract having a saturated hydrocarbon content of not more than 10% w/w and obtained by blowing a gas containing free oxygen into a petroleum extract at elevated temperatures, the petroleum extract having been obtained by the solvent extraction of a product of petroleum refining which is a distillate petroleum fraction or a deasphalted petroleum residue or a blend of this deasphalted residue and distillate, which product boils above 350° C. at atmospheric pressure and which contains a major proportion of aromatic hydrocarbons, characterized in that the composition contains about at least 0.03% by weight, based on the total composition, of an aliphatic amine containing 8 to 24 carbon atoms in the molecule.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 126 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 9 words
A composition according to claim 1 containing chlorosulphonated polyethylene.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 16 words
A composition according to either of claims 1 or 2 wherein the composition contains chlorinated polyethylene.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 28 words
A composition according to claim 3 wherein the chlorinated polyethylene is a chlorinated high density polyethylene having a chlorine content of from 25 to 40% by weight chlorine.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 22 words
A composition according to claims 1 wherein the hardened extract has a softening point in the range 50° C. to 200° C.
