Abstract
Abstract Stabilized fabrics include a woven, knitted or tufted fabric layer bonded to a stabilizing layer of staple or continuous filament fibers by an air-permeable bonding layer of thermoplastic material. The bonding is carried out under heat and pressure sufficient to melt the bonding layer and have it penetrate into the fibers of both the fabric layer and the stabilizing layer.
