Abstract

Abstract Pharmaceutical compositions containing a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory compound and 5,11-dihydro-11-[(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-acetyl]-6H-pyrido[2,3-b]-[1, 4]benzodiazepin-6-one or a non-toxic acid addition salt thereof, and a method of using the same as antiphlogistics; the pyridobenzodiazepinone ingredient effectively suppresses the gastro-intestinal side-effects of the anti-inflammatory ingredient.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 48 words
The method of suppressing the undesirable gastro-intestinal side-effects produced by administering an effective antiphlogistic amount of 1-(4-chloro-benzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-1H-indole-3-acetic acid to a warm-blooded animal in need thereof, which comprises simultaneous administering to said animal 1 part by weight of 5,11-dehydro-11-[(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-acetyl]-6H-pyrido[2,3-b][1,4]-benzodiazepin-6-one per 2 to 500 parts by weight of 1-(4-chloro-benzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-1H-indole-3-acetic acid.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 57 words
An antiphlogistic pharmaceutical composition consisting essentially of an inert pharmaceutical carrier, an effective antiphlogistic amount of 1-(4-chloro-benzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-1H-indole-3-acetic acid, and 5,11-dihydro-11-[(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-acetyl]-6H-pyrido[2,3-b][1,4]-benzodiazepin-6-one or a non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, where the weight ratio of 5,11-dihydro-11-[(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-acetyl]-6H-pyrido[2,3-b][1,4]benzodiazepin-6-one or a non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof to 1-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-1H-indole-3-acetic acid is within the range of 1:500 parts to 1:2 parts.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 57 words
An antiphlogistic pharmaceutical composition consisting essentially of an inert pharmaceutical carrier, an effective antiphlogistic amount of 1-(4-chloro-benzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-1H-indole-3-acetic acid, and 5,11-dihydro-11-[(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-acetyl]-6H-pyrido[2,3-b][1,4]-benzodiazepin-6-one or a non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, where the weight ratio of 5,11-dihydro-11-[(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-acetyl]-6H-pyrido[2,3-b][1,4]benzodiazepin-6-one or a non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof to 1-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-1H-indole-3-acetic acid is within the range of 1:500 parts to 1:2 parts.
