Abstract

Abstract A facsimile machine includes a cylinder for supporting a paper which is to receive a message or which carries a message to be transmitted by telephone lines to a remote location. The machine includes a read-write assembly which is mounted for movement back and forth across the paper-carrying cylinder. The read-write assembly includes a light assembly for directing light onto a printed document, a stylus for printing electrostatic charge on a blank sheet of paper, and a relatively simple mechanical apparatus for switching the machine from the read status to the write status.
