Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 69 words
A substantially non-toxic composition for controlling plaque comprising as an active ingredient an amount of a synergistic mixture of at least one metal containing compound wherein said metal is selected from the group consisting of copper, nickel, iron, cobalt, and mixtures thereof in combination with tetradecylamine, in admixture with an acceptable oral medium compatible with said combination, said amount being effective to control plaque at the site of formation.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 69 words
A substantially non-toxic composition for controlling plaque comprising as an active ingredient an amount of a synergistic mixture of at least one metal containing compound wherein said metal is selected from the group consisting of copper, nickel, iron, cobalt, and mixtures thereof in combination with tetradecylamine, in admixture with an acceptable oral medium compatible with said combination, said amount being effective to control plaque at the site of formation.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 29 words
A composition as defined in claim 1 wherein the amount of said metal is at least about 0.0005 molar and of said tetradecylamine is at least about 0.005 molar.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 27 words
A composition as defined in claim 2, said metal being present in an amount of about 0.004 molar and said tetradecylamine being present at about 0.02 molar.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 13 words
A composition as defined in claim 1 said acceptable oral medium comprising water.
Claim 6
Independent Claim 54 words
A method for controlling plaque comprising applying to the site of said plaque, an amount of a synergistic mixture of tetradecylamine and a metal wherein said metal is selected from the group consisting of copper, iron, nickel, cobalt and mixtures thereof, said amount being effective to control said plaque at the site of formation.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 54 words
A method for controlling plaque comprising applying to the site of said plaque, an amount of a synergistic mixture of tetradecylamine and a metal wherein said metal is selected from the group consisting of copper, iron, nickel, cobalt and mixtures thereof, said amount being effective to control said plaque at the site of formation.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 33 words
A method as defined in claim 5 wherein said antiplaque effective amount of said metal is at least about 0.0005 molar and the amount of said tetradecylamine is at least about 0.005 molar.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 42 words
A plaque controlling mouthrinse consisting essentially of 0.02 molar tetradecylamine and 0.004 molar metal selected from the group consisting of copper, iron, nickel, cobalt and mixtures thereof, in a medium consisting essentially of 75% to 95% water and 5% to 25% ethanol.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 42 words
A plaque controlling mouthrinse consisting essentially of 0.02 molar tetradecylamine and 0.004 molar metal selected from the group consisting of copper, iron, nickel, cobalt and mixtures thereof, in a medium consisting essentially of 75% to 95% water and 5% to 25% ethanol.
