Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 33 words
A method for rendering heat transfer surfaces resistant to the deposition of adherent scale consisting of plasma-polymerizing fluoroethylene monomer in the presence of said surfaces, and depositing on said surfaces a fluoropolymer coating.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 33 words
A method for rendering heat transfer surfaces resistant to the deposition of adherent scale consisting of plasma-polymerizing fluoroethylene monomer in the presence of said surfaces, and depositing on said surfaces a fluoropolymer coating.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the coating thickness is less than about 1/10,000 inch.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 2 wherein said fluoroethylene monomer is tetrafluoroethylene.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 46 words
In a heat exchanger comprising heat transfer fluid conducting means and aqueous heat transfer fluid, the improvement wherein the surfaces of said heat transfer fluid conducting means contacting said aqueous heat transfer fluid are coated to a thickness of less than 1/10,000" with plasma-polymerized fluoroethylene monomer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 46 words
In a heat exchanger comprising heat transfer fluid conducting means and aqueous heat transfer fluid, the improvement wherein the surfaces of said heat transfer fluid conducting means contacting said aqueous heat transfer fluid are coated to a thickness of less than 1/10,000" with plasma-polymerized fluoroethylene monomer.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 12 words
The heat exchanger of claim 4 wherein said fluoroethylene monomer is tetrafluoroethylene.
