Claim 1
Independent Claim
131 words
In a process for the manufacture of a filled detergent hydrophilic flexible polyurethane foam from a clay filler, and alkyl aryl sulfonate detergent and a normally liquid polyether polyol, the improvement which comprises mixing the filler and the detergent to form a first mixture, mixing said first mixture with the polyol to form a second mixture, and introducing said second mixture, tolylene diisocyanate and water as a blowing agent into the mixing chamber of a foam machine whereby a filled detergent polyurethane foam is manufactured, wherein said second mixture contains from 20 to 60 per cent by weight of filler, based upon the weight of the polyol, and wherein said second mixture contains from 30 to 80 per cent by weight of sulfonate detergent, based upon the weight of the polyol.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
23 words
A process according to claim 1 where in the weight ratio of detergent to filler is within the range from one to 3.5.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
33 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein said filler is kaolin coated with from about 0.2 to about 2 per cent by weight, based upon the weight of the kaolin, of a polyamine.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
12 words
A process according to claim 3 wherein the polyamine is ethylene diamine.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
16 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein said sulfonate detergent is linear dodecyl benzene sodium sulfonate.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim

A process according to claim 1 wherein the tolylene diisocyanate is a 65 per cent 2,4- isomer, 35 per cent 2,6- isomer mixture.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
40 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein from about two to about 10 per cent by weight, based upon the weight of the polyol, of a diol having from 2 to 8 carbon atoms is introduced into the mixing chamber.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
12 words
A process according to claim 7 wherein the diol is 1,4-cyclohexane dimethanol.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
12 words
A process according to claim 7 wherein the diol is diethylene glycol.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
42 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein an organosilicon surfactant and a catalyst are introduced into the mixing chamber, the amount of said organosilicon surfactant being from about 0.01 to about one part by weight per 100 parts by weight of polyol.
