Abstract
Abstract Nitroaliphatic difluoroformals of the formula RCH2OCF2OCH2R' wherein R = FC(NO2)2- and R' = F2C(NO2)- or CF3-; or R = R' = CF3OCH2C(NO2)2-. The compounds are prepared in accordance with the following reaction: <IMAGE> carried out at temperatures of from about 95 DEG C to about 150 DEG C. The compounds are especially useful as energetic plasticizers in explosive compositions.
