Abstract

Abstract A cement mix suitable for mixing with water to form a glass reinforced cementitious material for use in high tensile strength applications such as surface bonding of concrete blocks or the like or in the formation of concrete products and characterized by a resistance to degradation of the glass reinforcement by the alkaline environment of the cementitious material. The cement mix comprises a dry mixture of an inorganic cementitious binder containing at least one reactive alkali compound, glass reinforcement fibers, and a water soluble salt of a metal selected from the group consisting of barium, lithium, and zinc.
