Claim 1
Independent Claim
50 words
An improved process for equilibrating organosiloxanes by reacting organosiloxanes with chlorosilanes in the presence of a catalyst, the improvement which consists essentially of conducting the equilibration reaction in the presence of a catalyst selected from the class consisting of (a) activated charcoal and (b) activated charcoal and an inorganic acid.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
69 words
The improved process of claim 1, wherein the organosiloxanes are cyclic siloxanes having the formula: (R.sub.2 SiO).sub.n in which R may be the same or different and is selected from the class consisting of monovalent hydrocarbon radicals, halogenated hydrocarbon radicals and hydrogen with the provision that no more than one hydrogen atom is bonded to each silicon atom; and n is a whole number of from 3 to 10.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim

The improved process of claim 1, wherein the organosiloxanes have the general formula: R.sub.3 SiO(R.sub.2 SiO).sub.m SiR.sub.3, in which R may be same or different and is selected from the class consisting of monovalent hydrocarbon radicals, halogenated hydrocarbon radicals and hydrogen with the provision that no more than one hydrogen atom is bonded to each silicon atom, and m is 0 or a whole number.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
63 words
The improved process of claim 3, wherein the chlorosilanes are represented by the formula: R.sub.x' SiCl.sub.4-x' in which R is the same or different and is selected from the class consisting of monovalent hydrocarbon radicals, halogenated hydrocarbon radicals and hydrogen, with the provision that no more than one hydrogen atom is bonded to each silicon atom; and x' is 0, 1 or 2.
Claim 6
