Abstract

Abstract Tannin migration through a latex paint applied to a tannin-containing wood surface is inhibited by applying to the wood surface a linear, partially deacylated poly(N-acyl)alkylenimine, such as poly(N-propionyl)ethylenimine. The poly(N-acyl)alkylenimine can be applied to the wood surface either prior to or concurrently with the latex paint.
