Abstract
Abstract A magnetic tape cassette in which a unitary pressure pad assembly is retained within a recess formed in a portion of a cassette which allows for free movement of the assembly toward and away from the record medium and transverse thereto thereby to allow pivotal movement of the assembly about an axis parallel to the longitudinal direction of movement of the record medium to minimize variations in recording and playback performance between opposite sides of the tape.
