Abstract
Abstract A known type of base for a shower comprises a carrier having a shower tray. The carrier can be moved between a first position and a second position. In the first position the shower tray is substantially horizontal and can thus be used in taking a shower. In the second position the shower tray is substantially vertical and the carrier thus occupies less floor space. The improvement characteristic of the invention is the provision of a wash basin as part of the carrier; the basin opens upwards for use in washing when the carrier is in its second position.
