Abstract
Abstract The rate of solubility of a freeze-dried solid composition containing therapeutic amounts of anti-hemophilic factor (AHF) is greatly increased by carrying out the solubilization in the presence of at least a critical threshold amount of a water soluble carbohydrate. The carbohydrate is incorporated into the AHF composition in sufficient quantity to provide at least 2 weight units of carbohydrate (expressed in grams) per 100 volume units of AHF solution (expressed in milliliters). This enhanced rate of solubility permits rapid treatment of hemophilic patients.
