Simultaneous plural fluid conductor connections

Claim 2

Apparatus for use with a manifold and a plurality of hose fittings, comprising plate means, retainer means positioned closely adjacent to said plate means, fastener means movably attaching said plate means and said retainer means for movement of said retainer means relative to said plate means between an engaged position and a disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means having openings therein which receive said plurality of fittings when said retainer means is in said disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means including means releasably engaging said plurality of fittings and holding said fittings in assembled relation therewith when said retainer means is in said engaged position, and means releasably attaching said plate means to the manifold.

Claim 3

Apparatus as in claim 1, wherein said plate means has a recess formed in one side thereof, said retainer means being slidably fastened in said recess, and said openings being formed in said recessed portion of said plate means.

Claim 4

Apparatus as in claim 2, wherein said retainer means is sized to be slidably received in said recess, said fastener means permitting limited sliding movement of said retainer means.

Claim 5

Apparatus as in claim 3, wherein the margins of said openings in said retainer means extend into grooves in said fittings when said retainer means is in said engaged position.

Claim 6

Apparatus for use with a manifold, comprising plate means, retainer means positioned closely adjacent to said plate means, fastener means attaching said retainer means to said plate means for movement of said retainer means relative to said plate means between an engaged position and a disengaged position, a group of fittings, said plate means and said retainer means having openings formed therein which receive said fittings when said retainer means is in said disengaged position, means on said plate means and said retainer means releasably holding said group of fittings in assembled relation with said plate means and said retainer means when said retainer means is in said engaged position, means releasably attaching said plate means to said manifold, and each of said fittings including sealing means making a sealed connection with said manifold.

Claim 7

Apparatus for use with a manifold, comprising plate means, retainer means positioned closely adjacent to said plate means, fastener means attaching said retainer means to said plate means for movement of said retainer means relative to said plate means between an engaged position and a disengaged position, a group of fittings, said plate means and said retainer means having openings formed therein which receive said fittings when said retainer means is in said disengaged position, means on said plate means and said retainer means releasably holding said group of fittings in assembled relation with said plate means and said retainer means when said retainer means is in said engaged position, means releasably attaching said plate means to said manifold, and each of said fittings including sealing means making a sealed connection with said manifold.

Claim 8

Apparatus as in claim 5, wherein said group of fittings have different diameter sizes, each of said fittings comprising an inner end received in said openings, stop means engaging an outer surface of said plate means, fitting retainer means intermediate said stop means and said inner end, said fitting retainer means being engaged by said retainer means, and the distance from said stop means to said fitting retainer means being the same for all of said fittings regardless of size.

Claim 9

Apparatus as in claim 6, wherein the distance from said stop means to said inner end is the same for all of said fittings regardless of size.

Claim 10

Apparatus as in claim 6, wherein said stop means comprises an annular shoulder, and said fitting retainer means comprises an annular groove.

Claim 11

Apparatus as in claim 8, wherein said retainer means is movably attached to one side of said plate means, each of said fittings including a shoulder engaging the other side of said plate means, and a retainer groove which is engaged by said retainer means.

Claim 12

Apparatus as in claim 9, wherein said fittings of said group have different diameter sizes, and the distance from said shoulder to said groove is the same for all sizes.

Claim 13

Apparatus as in claim 8, wherein said fastener means enables limited movement of said retainer means between said engaged and disengaged positions.

Claim 14

Apparatus comprising a first sub-assembly, a first group of fittings, said first sub-assembly including a first plate having a plurality of holes receiving said first group of fittings, first retainer means positioned closely adjacent said first plate, fastener means movably attaching said first plate and said first retainer means, said first retainer means releasably engaging said first group of fittings and releasably holding said fittings attached to said first plate, a second sub-assembly, a second group of fittings, said second sub-assembly including a second plate having a plurality of holes receiving said second group of fittings, second retainer means positioned closely adjacent said second plate, fastener means movably attaching said plate and said second retainer means, said second retainer means releasably engaging said second group of fittings and holding said fittings releasably attached to said second plate, a center connecting member having a plurality of passages formed therein, and means removably connecting said first and second sub-assemblies to said member with said fittings extending into said passages, whereby said fittings of said first and second groups are connected by means of said passages, each of said fittings including sealing means located to make sealing engagement with the walls of said passages in said member.

Claim 15

Apparatus comprising a first sub-assembly, a first group of fittings, said first sub-assembly including a first plate having a plurality of holes receiving said first group of fittings, first retainer means positioned closely adjacent said first plate, fastener means movably attaching said first plate and said first retainer means, said first retainer means releasably engaging said first group of fittings and releasably holding said fittings attached to said first plate, a second sub-assembly, a second group of fittings, said second sub-assembly including a second plate having a plurality of holes receiving said second group of fittings, second retainer means positioned closely adjacent said second plate, fastener means movably attaching said plate and said second retainer means, said second retainer means releasably engaging said second group of fittings and holding said fittings releasably attached to said second plate, a center connecting member having a plurality of passages formed therein, and means removably connecting said first and second sub-assemblies to said member with said fittings extending into said passages, whereby said fittings of said first and second groups are connected by means of said passages, each of said fittings including sealing means located to make sealing engagement with the walls of said passages in said member.

Claim 16

Apparatus as in claim 12, wherein said first and second sub-assemblies are connected to different sides of said center connecting member, and said passages extend between said sides.

Claim 17

Apparatus as in claim 13, wherein said different sides are parallel.

Claim 18

Apparatus as in claim 13, wherein said first and second sides form an angle therebetween.

Claim 19

Apparatus as in claim 12, wherein said fittings of said first and second sub-assemblies extend into opposite ends so said passages.

Claim 20

Apparatus for use with a manifold and a plurality of hose fittings, comprising plate means, retainer means positioned closely adjacent to said plate means, fastener means movably attaching said plate means and said retainer means for movement of said retainer means relative to said plate means between an engaged position and a disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means having openings therein which receive said plurality of fittings when said retainer means is in said disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means including means releasably engaging said plurality of fittings and holding said fittings in assembled relation with said plate means when said retainer means is in said engaged position, means releasably attaching said plate means to the manifold, the lock means engageable with said retainer means for releasably locking said retainer means in said engaged position.

Claim 21

Apparatus for use with a manifold and a plurality of hose fittings, comprising plate means, retainer means positioned closely adjacent to said plate means, fastener means movably attaching said plate means and said retainer means for movement of said retainer means relative to said plate means between an engaged position and a disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means having openings therein which receive said plurality of fittings when said retainer means is in said disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means including means releasably engaging said plurality of fittings and holding said fittings in assembled relation with said plate means when said retainer means is in said engaged position, means releasably attaching said plate means to the manifold, the lock means engageable with said retainer means for releasably locking said retainer means in said engaged position.

Claim 22

Apparatus for use with a plurality of hose fittings, comprising a sub-assembly including plate means, retainer means positioned closely adjacent to said plate means, fastener means movably attaching said plate means and said retainer means for movement of said retainer means relative to said plate means between an engaged position and a disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means having openings therein which receive said plurality of fittings when said retainer means is in said disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means including means releasably engaging said plurality of fittings and holding said fittings in assembled relation therewith when said retainer means is in said engaged position, a connecting member having a plurality of passages formed therein, and means releasably attaching said sub-assembly to said member with said fittings extending into said passages.

Claim 23

Apparatus for use with a plurality of hose fittings, comprising a sub-assembly including plate means, retainer means positioned closely adjacent to said plate means, fastener means movably attaching said plate means and said retainer means for movement of said retainer means relative to said plate means between an engaged position and a disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means having openings therein which receive said plurality of fittings when said retainer means is in said disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means including means releasably engaging said plurality of fittings and holding said fittings in assembled relation therewith when said retainer means is in said engaged position, a connecting member having a plurality of passages formed therein, and means releasably attaching said sub-assembly to said member with said fittings extending into said passages.

Claim 24

Apparatus comprising plate means, retainer means positioned closely adjacent to said plate means, fastener means movably attaching said plate means and said retainer means for movement of said retainer means relative to said plate means between an engaged position and a disengaged position, a group of fittings, said plate means and said retainer means having openings therein which receive said plurality of fittings when said retainer means is in said disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means including means releasably engaging said plurality of fittings and holding said fittings in assembled relation therewith when said retainer means is in said engaged position, a manifold having a plurality of passages formed therein, and means releasably attaching said retainer means and said plate means to said manifold with said fittings extending into said passages.

Claim 25

Apparatus comprising plate means, retainer means positioned closely adjacent to said plate means, fastener means movably attaching said plate means and said retainer means for movement of said retainer means relative to said plate means between an engaged position and a disengaged position, a group of fittings, said plate means and said retainer means having openings therein which receive said plurality of fittings when said retainer means is in said disengaged position, said plate means and said retainer means including means releasably engaging said plurality of fittings and holding said fittings in assembled relation therewith when said retainer means is in said engaged position, a manifold having a plurality of passages formed therein, and means releasably attaching said retainer means and said plate means to said manifold with said fittings extending into said passages.
