Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 87 words
A manifold receptor sheet comprising a substrate coated on at least one surface with fumed hydrophilic silicon dioxide particles having an acid pH and a diameter ranging from about 7 to 14 nanometers and a surface area from about 200 m 2 /g to 400 m 2 /g and capable of reacting with a chromogenic material to produce a colored visible image, and an adhesive for maintaining the particles on the surface, the silicon dioxide particles comprising from 50 to 95 percent by weight of the coating.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 87 words
A manifold receptor sheet comprising a substrate coated on at least one surface with fumed hydrophilic silicon dioxide particles having an acid pH and a diameter ranging from about 7 to 14 nanometers and a surface area from about 200 m 2 /g to 400 m 2 /g and capable of reacting with a chromogenic material to produce a colored visible image, and an adhesive for maintaining the particles on the surface, the silicon dioxide particles comprising from 50 to 95 percent by weight of the coating.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
A sheet according to claim 1 wherein substantially one entire surface of the substrate is coated.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 11 words
A sheet according to claim 1 wherein the substrate is paper.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 12 words
A sheet according to claim 1 wherein the adhesive is a polymer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 21 words
A sheet according to claim 1 wherein the weight of the coating is from 0.3 to about 3.0 pounds per ream.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 24 words
A sheet according to claim 1 wherein rupturable capsules containing a chromogenic material are coated directly onto the coating of fumed silicon dioxide particles.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 28 words
A process for preparing a sheet according to claim 1 wherein a solution of an adhesive having dispersed therein fumed silicon dioxide particles is coated onto a substrate.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 114 words
A manifold set for replicating written symbols which set comprises a substrate coated on at least a portion of one surface with fumed silicon dioxide particles having an acid pH and a diameter ranging from 7 to 14 nanometers and a surface area of from about 200 m 2 /g to 400 m 2 /g and capable of reacting with a chromogenic material to produce a colored visible image and an adhesive for maintaining the particles on the surface of the substrate, and in contact with the coating a layer of pressure rupturable capsules containing a leuco dye-forming material, the silicon dioxide particles comprising from 50 to 95 percent by weight of the coating.
Claim 10
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 35 words
A set according to claim 8 wherein a plurality of substrates are in association so that the rupturable capsules on a first sheet are contiguous to the fumed silicon dioxide coating on a second sheet.
