Abstract Compounds of the formula <IMAGE> WHEREIN R is halogen, (C1-C4)alkyl, halo-(C1-C4)alkyl, (C1-C4)alkoxy, halo(C1-C4)alkoxy, phenyl, -NO2, -NH2 or -CN; R' is (C1-C4)alkyl or halogen; N IS AN INTEGER OF FROM 1 TO 3; N1 IS ZERO OR AN INTEGER OF FROM 1 TO 3; Y is (C1-C6)alkylene and X is -COOH, -COO-(C1-C8)alkyl, -CONH2, -CONH-NH2, -CN or -COO-Cat, "Cat" being the cation of an inorganic or organic base, are useful as selective grass herbicides.
