Abstract
Abstract A method of preparing a supported metal phthalocyanine catalyst is disclosed. A solid adsorptive support is impregnated with a common alcoholic solution of a metal phthalocyanine and a carboxylic acid. The impregnated support is dried to yield a catalytic composite particularly useful in the treatment of a sour petroleum distillate or fraction.
