Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim
86 words
In a composition for protecting ferrous metals from corrosion comprising a partially hydrolyzed organic silicate and particulate zinc, the improvement which comprises adding a curing amount of a fatty acid amidoamine formed by the interaction of about one mole of at least one ethylenically unsaturated fatty acid having 10 to about 24 carbon atoms and about one mole of an alkylene polyamine containing two primary amine groups and at least one secondary amine group wherein the alkylene group contains about 2 to about 5 carbon atoms.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
13 words
Composition claimed in claim 1 wherein the hydrolyzed organic silicate is an alkoxyalkylpolysilicate.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
10 words
Composition claimed in claim 2 wherein the alkoxyalkylpolysilicate is ethoxyethylpolysilicate.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
15 words
Composition claimed in claim 1 wherein the hydrolyzed organic silicate is a hydrolyzed tetraalkyl orthosilicate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
12 words
Composition claimed in claim 4 wherein the tetraalkyl orthosilicate is tetraethyl orthosilicate.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
20 words
Composition claimed in claim 1 wherein fatty acid amidoamine is derived from a mixture of oleic, linoleic and linoleic acids.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
12 words
Composition claimed in claim 1 wherein the alkylene polyamine is pentaethylene tetramine.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
55 words
Composition claimed in claim 1 wherein the fatty acid amidoamine is modified by interacting the fatty acid and polyamine with a monoepoxide selected from monoepoxides having the formula: ##STR3## wherein R 2 is hydrogen, phenyl, or alkyl having 1 to 10 carbons and R 3 is phenyl or alkyl having 1 to 10 carbon atoms.
