Claim 1
Independent Claim
129 words
A process for adsorbing adsorbable materials from solution which comprises contacting said solution with a porous carbon particulate comprising carbon black spheres bonded in molded relationship by a carbonized binder, said spheres having an average diameter in the range of about 80 to 5000 angstrom units and a surface area of at least 100 square meters per gram, and said particulate having a pore volume of at least 0.2 cubic centimeters per gram, a surface area of at least 100 square meters per gram, said particulate surface area being equal to or less than the surface area of said spheres, and a pore size distribution such that at least about 45% of its total surface area is in pores of radius equal to or greater than 20 angstrom units.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
