Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 23
Claim 1
Independent Claim 40 words
An aqueous based printing ink comprising ink pigment, water and a polymer solubilized in said ink by a rapid removable solubilizing component, said polymer being capable of forming a water-insensitive gel film upon removal of said rapid removable solubilizing component.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 40 words
An aqueous based printing ink comprising ink pigment, water and a polymer solubilized in said ink by a rapid removable solubilizing component, said polymer being capable of forming a water-insensitive gel film upon removal of said rapid removable solubilizing component.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 9 words
The ink of claim 1 including a pigment binder.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 17 words
The ink of claim 1 comprising a vehicle which is at least 75 percent by volume water.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 14 words
The ink of claim 1 comprising a vehicle which is 100% by volume water.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 22 words
The ink of claim 1 wherein said polymer is a maleimide copolymer solubilized by ammonia, a volatile amine, or a mixture thereof.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 47 words
The ink of claim 5 wherein said copolymer contains one or more comonomers selected from the group consisting of C 3 -C 8 aliphatic olefins, styrene or the polymerizable lower alkyl substituted styrenes, the vinyl esters of lower aliphatic carboxylic acids and the vinyl lower alkyl ethers.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 17 words
The ink of claim 5 containing 0.5 to 20% maleimide copolymer (wt/vol), based on volume of ink.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 9 words
The ink of claim 5 including a pigment binder.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 17 words
The ink of claim 6 comprising a vehicle which is at least 75 percent by volume water.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 14 words
The ink of claim 6 comprising a vehicle which is 100% water by volume.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 18 words
The ink of claim 6 wherein said copolymer has a molecular weight of 1000 to over 1 million.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 16 words
The ink of claim 6 where said comonomer is a C 3 -C 8 aliphatic olefin.
