Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 105 words
In the process of converting a feed consisting of ethylene to a product comprising isobutane and n-butane by contacting such ethylene with a ZSM-5 type of crystalline alumino-silicate zeolite at a given set of operating conditions including a space velocity of about 0.5 to 10 WHSV and a temperature of at least about 300° C; the improvement which comprises utilizing as said zeolite ZSM-11 and operating at said given combination set of conditions such as to produce a product having an iso-butane to n-butane ratio of at least about 6 and separating a C 4 fraction comprising butanes that contain at least about 85% iso-butane.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 105 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
The improved process claimed in claim 1 carried out with undiluted ethylene feed up to about 515° C.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 21 words
The improved process claimed in claim 1 carried out with an inert gas diluted ethylene feed up to about 400° C.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 14 words
The improved process claimed in claim 1 carried out using HZSM-11 as the zeolite.
