Abstract
Abstract An excellent flame- and smoke-resistant flexible polyurethane foam is produced by reacting a polyisocyanate with a mixture of A. polyether polyol containing secondary hydroxyl group of at least 50 mol% of total hydroxyl content and having a number average molecular weight of 3,000-6,000 and B. a low molecular weight polyhydroxyl compound, an equivalent weight ratio of said low molecular weight polyhydroxyl compound (B) to said polyether polyol (A) being 0.5-2.0, if desired, the flame retardancy of the foam may be enhanced by the addition of a small amount of flame retardant.
