Abstract
Abstract A glycerol derivative represented by the formula (I) <IMAGE> (I) wherein A is hereinafter defined, including the optically active isomers per se and mixtures of the optically active isomers, which are useful as a central nervous system depressant, an intermediate for the preparation of beta -adrenergic blocking agents, an inhibitor of blood platelet aggregation or a choleretic agent, and a process for preparing the above glycerol derivative.
