Abstract
Abstract The invention concerns welded turbine rotors. It is characterized in that,n the elements constituting a welded rotor which consist of a blade bearing block having at least one axial protuberance, that axial protuberance is made of steel having a lower carbon and nickel content than the remainder of the element and is joined thereto by a transition zone also made of steel. The invention applies more particularly to high-power steam turbines.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim
131 words
A method for manufacturing a turbine rotor comprising the steps of: forging blade bearing blocks made of a steel comprising carbon and nickel; joining at least one axial protuberance to each block by casting a transition zone between the axial protuberance and the block from a consumable electrode with said protuberance being formed of steel having a carbon content and a nickel content lower than those of said block, and wherein said consumable electrode comprises steel having a carbon content between the carbon content of said block and said protuberance and having a nickel content between the nickel content of said block and said protuberance; reforging and heat treating said blocks with their axial protuberances; and welding of axial protuberances of respective blocks together to form an axial succession of blocks.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
64 words
The method of manufacturing a turbine rotor as claimed in claim 1, wherein the steel of said blocks has a carbon content in excess of 0.25% by weight and a nickel content of about 3.5% by weight and the steel of said protuberances has a carbon content lower than 2.5% by weight and a nickel content which is not greater than 1.5% by weight.
