Abstract
Abstract There is described a floatable incendiary composition consisting essentially of magnesium powder, an oxidizer and an elastomeric polysiloxane which serves as a binder the amount of polysiloxane being sufficient to bind together the other components of the composition. The compositions are rendered floatable on the surface of water by incorporating into them a quantity of hollow microballoons in sufficient amount to lower the specific gravity of the composition concerned to less than 1.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
51 words
A floating incendiary composition comprising magnesium powder, an oxidizing agent for said magnesium, and a cured elastomeric polysiloxane binder, said composition further comprising a sufficient quantity of hollow microballoons to lower the specific gravity of the composition to less than 1.0, thereby rendering the composition floatable on the surface of water.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
16 words
A floating incendiary composition as set forth in claim 1 wherein said hollow microballoons are glass.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
35 words
A floating composition as set forth in claim 2 wherein said oxidizer is chosen from the group consisting of metallic oxides, particulate polytetrafluoroethylene, sodium chlorate, potassium perchlorate and nitrates of potassium, sodium, barium, and strontium.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
24 words
In an incendiary composition the improvement which comprises incorporating therein sufficient hollow microballoons to render the specific gravity of the composition less than 1.0.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
24 words
In an incendiary composition the improvement which comprises incorporating therein sufficient hollow microballoons to render the specific gravity of the composition less than 1.0.
