Abstract

Abstract A method is described for making a fire-resistant product of simultaneously foamed magnesium oxychloride cement and synthetic resin. An example is polyurethane foam which, in the process of formation, generates sufficient heat to cure the cement-forming components. The relatively low density products have high heat resistance, unlike resin foams, making them particularly useful for building and construction purposes.
