Claim 1
Independent Claim 69 words
A self-aligning bearing assembly comprising an outer member having a concave inner surface and an inner member operationally carried within said outer member and having a convex outer surface generally complementary to said concave inner surface, said inner member being split to provide a departure wherein said inner member is provided with a tapered hole therethrough, said departure being tangential to a central hole provided in said inner member.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 69 words
A self-aligning bearing assembly comprising an outer member having a concave inner surface and an inner member operationally carried within said outer member and having a convex outer surface generally complementary to said concave inner surface, said inner member being split to provide a departure wherein said inner member is provided with a tapered hole therethrough, said departure being tangential to a central hole provided in said inner member.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
A self-aligning bearing in accordance with claim 1 wherein said departure is formed through said inner member.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 26 words
A self-aligning bearing in accordance with claim 1 wherein said hole in said inner member is central and tapered to accept a complementary tapered collar therein.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 23 words
A self-aligning bearing in accordance with claim 3 wherein said collar is provided with said central hole to accept an attaching means therethrough.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 38 words
A self-aligning bearing in accordance with claim 4 wherein said attaching means includes a bolt, said bolt to have a nut threadably attached thereto, said bolt and said nut operationally attaching said inner member to a machine element.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 24 words
A self-aligning bearing in accordance with claim 1 having a tapered collar within a centrally disposed complementary formed tapered hole through said inner member.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 69 words
A self-aligning bearing assembly comprising an outer member having a concave inner surface and an inner member operationally carried within said outer member and having a convex outer surface generally complementary to said concave inner surface, said inner member being split to provide a departure wherein said inner member is provided with a tapered hole therethrough, wherein lateral faces of said departure are coated with a self-lubricated plastic material.
Claim 9
