Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 17
Claim 1
Independent Claim 121 words
An electrochemical cell comprising a pressurized container having a cylindrical can body with a cylindrical side wall, a closed bottom end and an open upper end, the upper open end of said can body being curled to the shape of a torus, the innermost portion of which has a diameter not greater than the diameter of said can body; a closure for said container, said closure comprising a metallic element having a curved lip crimped against said torus; means to insulate said can body from said cover; an anode, a cathode and an electrolyte operatively positioned within said container, one of said anode or cathode being electrically connected to said can body and the other being electrically connected to said cover.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 121 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 41 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 1 wherein a portion of said cover is positioned beneath said torus and has a diameter greater than the diameter of the innermost portion of said torus but less than the diameter of said can body.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 23 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 1 wherein said cover is additionally crimped inwardly beneath the head of a nail shaped electrode current collector.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 25 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 1 wherein the curled upper end of said can body is spaced from the inner surface of said side wall.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 31 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 1 wherein said means to insulate said can body from said cover comprises a polymer dielectrically separating and adhered to said can body and said cover.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 18 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 1 wherein said cylindrical side wall has a height greater than its diameter.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 15 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 1 wherein the entire device is formed of nonmagnetic materials.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 15 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 1 wherein said electrolyte is a pressurized, normally gaseous material.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 12 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 8 wherein said electrolyte is sulfur dioxide.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 11 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 9 wherein said anode is lithium.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 35 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 1 wherein the outermost portion of said curled upper end of said can body which forms a torus has a diameter not greater than the diameter of said can body.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 31 words
The electrochemical cell of claim 1 wherein there is additionally provided an insulating jacket extending around the cylindrical portion of said can body from the bottom end thereof to said closure.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 76 words
An electrical device comprising an electrical body in a cylindrical container, said container having an open end defined by a rim, the rim of the container being rolled over inwardly toward the axis of the container, and a closure assembly including a member having its periphery crimped against the rolled over rim to generally conform its shape to the shape of a portion of the rolled over rim of the container and to seal the container.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 76 words
An electrical device comprising an electrical body in a cylindrical container, said container having an open end defined by a rim, the rim of the container being rolled over inwardly toward the axis of the container, and a closure assembly including a member having its periphery crimped against the rolled over rim to generally conform its shape to the shape of a portion of the rolled over rim of the container and to seal the container.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 31 words
The electrical device of claim 13 wherein electrically insulating material is interposed between at least a portion of the periphery of the member and the rolled over rim of the container.
Claim 17
Dependent Claim 33 words
The electrical device of claim 13 wherein the closure, excluding the portion having a shape conforming to the rolled over rim, has a diameter greater than the rolled inside diameter of the container.
