Insulated wire or cable having primary insulation between copper conductor and moisture barrier filler and wherein said primary insulation comprises, based on the total weight of said insulation. a. solid ethylene polymer having a density of about 0.928 to 0.955, b. about 0.05 to 0.2% by weight of 3-salicyloyl-amido-1,2,4-triazole, and c. about 0.01 to 0.2% by weight of at least one organic compound having a molecular weight of at ≧550, and which is selected from the group consisting of compounds containing at least four hindered phenolic hydroxyl groups.
