Abstract
Abstract An artificial fireplace log is provided which can be ignited more readily without prejudice to its subsequent combustion properties. A strip of readily flammable material is applied along the outside of the log, preferably in a groove. The readily flammable material is preferably a solid emulsion or solid solution of a low flash-point fuel.
