Abstract
Abstract Dyestuffs of the formula F--B--A wherein: F denotes the residue of a dye molecule which is free from reactive groups and from water solubilizing groups, B denotes a direct bond or a bridge member, and A denotes the group: ##STR1## wherein: M represents N, CH or C--Hal, Hal represents halogen, Z 1 represents OZ 2 or ##STR2## X 1 represents an optionally substituted ω-hydroxyalkyl group or ω-hydroxyalkenyl group, X 2 , y 1 and Y 2 represent hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl or aryl groups, or X 1 and Y 1 together with the nitrogen atom form a heterocyclic group, and Z 2 represents an optionally substituted alkyl group with the proviso that at least one of the groups X 2 , Y 1 , Y 2 and Z 2 is an ω-hydroxyalkyl or alkenyl group, the groups X 1 and Y 1 may also combine with the nitrogen atom to form a heterocyclic ring, Are suitable for the dyeing of polyurethane resins. The dyestuffs are incorporated in the resins with the formation of covalent bonds.

Process for dyeing polyurethane resins with dyes which are suitable for incorporation in the resin with the formation of covalent bonds, characterised in that dyes of formula: F -- B -- A wherein: F denotes the residue of a dye molecule which is free from reactive groups and from water solubilising groups, B denotes a direct bond or a bridge member, and A denotes the group: ##STR76## wherein: M represents N, CH or C--Hal, Hal represents halogen, Z 1 represents OZ 2 or ##STR77## X 1 represents an optionally substituted ω-hydroxyalkyl group or ω-hydroxyalkenyl group, X 2 , y 1 and Y 2 represent hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl or aryl groups, or X 1 and Y 1 together with the nitrogen atom form a heterocyclic group, and Z 2 represents an optionally substituted alkyl group with the proviso that at least one of the groups X 2 , Y 1 , Y 2 and Z 2 is an ω-hydroxyalkyl or alkenyl group, are added to the reaction mixture or to one of the components before or during the polyaddition reaction.
