Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 149 words
An adapter to enable a non-standard sized battery to be operatively placed into a battery compartment designed to house a standard size battery which is larger in diameter than said non-standard size battery, said adapter comprising an elongated, tubular body having a wall integral with one end thereof, a first plurality of fingers integral with said tubular body proximate said one end and extending radially inwardly, a second plurality of resilient fingers extending axially within said tubular body from the radially inner ends of said first plurality of fingers, said second plurality of fingers defining a bore for releasably holding the non-standard size battery and an elongated, conductive member, slidably positioned in said bore with one end of said conductive member being external of said adapter and with the opposite end of said conductive member being adapted to contact a terminal of a non-standard battery positioned within said adapter.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 149 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 28 words
The adapter according to claim 1, wherein the length of said conductive member is equal to the difference between the lengths of the standard and the non-standard batteries.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 39 words
The adapter according to claim 1 wherein said conductive member is in the form of a rod having a disk on the inner end thereof with said disk being arranged to contact the terminal of the non-standard size battery.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 27 words
The adapter according to claim 3 wherein said rod and said disk has a passageway therethrough to permit discharge of gas from the interior of said adapter.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 31 words
The adapter according to claim 1 wherein the axially inner ends of said second plurality of fingers each contain a ridge for releasably engaging the non-standard size battery in said adapter.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 26 words
The adapter according to claim 1 wherein said first plurality of fingers extend radially inward from the juncture of said tubular body and said end wall.
