Abstract

Abstract A thermosetting composition is provided comprising a high vinyl polymer of a conjugated diene, a silane coupling agent, a viscosity reducing agent, an organic peroxide curing agent, and a filler comprising inorganic, particulate metal silicate or metal oxide and sulfur-containing organic polymer fiber. In a preferred embodiment of this invention the sulfur-containing polymer is poly (phenylene sulfide) and the conjugated diene polymer has at least about 50 percent unsaturation in the form of pendant groups containing olefinic unsaturation.
