Abstract
Abstract A high-molecular-weight polyethylene composition having superior processability comprising (A) 100 parts by weight of a high-density polyethylene having a density of at least 0.930 g/cc. a melt index of less than 0.1 g/10 minutes and a molecular weight distribution of not more than 10, (B) 0.1 to 5.0 parts by weight of a higher aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and/or a zinc salt thereof, and (C) 0.1 to 5.0 parts by weight of at least one compound selected from polybutene, mineral oils and epoxy plasticizers. The composition has superior processability in spite of its being based on polyethylene having a low melt index, and molded articles prepared from it have high mechanical strength. The composition is especially suitable for preparation of films.
