Abstract
Abstract A stable, fire resistant hydraulic fluid of the oil-in-water emulsion type having the property of relatively uniform viscosity over a broad range of water contents in which the non-polar (oil) and polar (water) components are coupled by means of a combination of an emulsifier, and a mixture of a relatively high molecular weight polyglycol or alkyl substituted polyglycol and a relatively low molecular weight glycol.
