A photopolymerizable compound comprising the product of the reaction of (1) a resin selected from the group consisting of polyamide, polyester, oil-modified polyester, polyether, epoxy, phenolic and polyurethane resins and (2) a monocarboxy-substituted benzophenone having the formula ##STR2## wherein m and n is each 0 or 1 and the sum of m and n is 1; and X and Y is each 1 to 4 halogen atoms or dialkylamino groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; X and Y may be the same or different and either or both may be omitted.

A photopolymerizable compound comprising the product of the reaction of (1) a resin selected from the group consisting of polyamide, polyester, oil-modified polyester, polyether, epoxy, phenolic and polyurethane resins and (2) a monocarboxy-substituted benzophenone having the formula ##STR2## wherein m and n is each 0 or 1 and the sum of m and n is 1; and X and Y is each 1 to 4 halogen atoms or dialkylamino groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; X and Y may be the same or different and either or both may be omitted.
