Abstract
Abstract A stripe-shaped color separation filter for use with an image pickup tube is disclosed which is covered at its one surface with a layer of transparent material such as glass or SiO 2 having a surface thereof which is flat enough to be practical for use with the image pickup tube. The layer of glass or SiO 2 is formed on the filter by directly applying melted materials thereon, melting down (sintering) powdered materials, chemical vapor deposition, sputtering, or vacuum deposition.
