Abstract
Abstract Maleic anhydride is obtained by oxidizing an unsaturated hydrocarbon having at least 4 carbon atoms in the presence of a catalyst comprising the oxides of tungsten and phosphorus, and at least one catalyst promoter selected from the groups consisting of a compound of a metallic element belonging to groups III A, III B, IV A and VIII of the Periodic Table; arsenic, zirconium, antimony, and niobium.
