Abstract

Abstract Novel water-insoluble enzyme complexes are provided which comprise a penicillin acylase enzyme adsorbed on a water-insoluble polymer substrate which is a polymer or copolymer of methacrylic acid and cross-linked with a cross-linking agent selected from glutaraldehyde, glyoxal and formaldehyde. The complexes are useful in the production of 6-APA from penicillins G and V.
