A detergent composition, consisting essentially of: a. from about 1% to about 99% by weight of a watersoluble detersive surfactant selected from nonionic, anionic, semi-polar and non-TMO based zwitterionic surfactants; b. from about 1% to about 99% by weight of a watersoluble co-surfactant of the formula: ##STR8## wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are independently selected from C 1 to C 30 alkyl or alkenyl moieties, aryl moieties, alkaryl moieties having an alkyl group in the range of C 1 to C 30 , or wherein two R moieties are joined to form a C 4 to C 6 heteroring with M; M is nitrogen or phosphorus; n is an integer from 1 to about 20; and X is a watersolubilizing anionic moiety; and c. from about 0% to about 95% by weight of a detergency builder.
