Abstract

Abstract A fluoroelastomer composition which is very useful for the manufacture of cured fluoroelastomer articles having desirable chemical and heat resistance combined with excellent low temperature flexibility can be prepared by blending specified amounts of the following: (A) an elastomeric copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene, a perfluoroalkyl perfluorovinyl ether and a bromine-containing olefin and (B) a certain fluoropolymer having perfluoroalkyl end groups containing an iodine atom; and when making the cured articles, it also preferred to add (C) an organic peroxide curing agent, (D) a co-curing agent such as triallyl isocyanurate and (E) a suitable metal compound such as a divalent metal oxide or hydroxide.
