Abstract
Abstract A mixture of phenylindane diamines is prepared by a process comprising acid-catalyzed dimerization of α-methylstyrene and subsequent nitration and reduction of the phenylindane reaction product. This phenylindane diamine mixture is useful in polymide polymers and as a curing agent for epoxy resins.
