Abstract
Abstract There is disclosed an imaging system for forming a plurality of images on the same surface, at least one of which is permanent and one of which is erasable. The imaging system includes an electro-optic imaging member which has a "built-in" master image.

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim
82 words
An imaging method comprising the steps of: a. providing an imaging member comprising a voltage or current-sensitive light modulating layer overlying a layer of photoconductive material, said photoconductive layer being physically permanently modified by exposure to UV radiation in a first imagewise pattern; b. applying an electrical field across said imaging member; and c. exposing said photoconductive material to a second imagewise pattern of activating radiation whereby images corresponding to said first and second imagewise patterns are formed in said imaging member.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
17 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said voltage or current-sensitive light modulating layer comprises an elastomer material.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
23 words
The method of claim 2 wherein said first imagewise pattern comprises a bar pattern which spatially modulates radiation propagated through the imaging member.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
30 words
The method of claim 2 wherein said imaging member further includes a transparent conductive substrate adjacent said photoconductive layer and a flexible conductive metallic layer overlying said elastomer material layer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
30 words
The method of claim 3 wherein said imaging member further includes a transparent conductive substrate adjacent said photoconductive layer and a flexible conductive metallic layer overlying said elastomer material layer.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
19 words
The method of claim 5 further including the step of optically reconstructing the images formed in the imaging member.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
29 words
The method of claim 4 further including an insulating liquid layer adjacent the side of the conductive metal layer opposite from that to which the elastomer layer is adjacent.
