Abstract
Abstract A silver halide photographic emulsion containing at least one sensitizing dye represented by the formula (I) ##EQU1## wherein Z 1 represents a group of atoms necessary to complete a thiazole nucleus, a benzothiazole nucleus, a benzoselenazole nucleus, a naphthothiazole nucleus or a naphthoselenazole nucleus; Z 2 represents a group of atoms necessary to complete a naphthothiazole nucleus or a naphthoselenazole nucleus; and R 1 and R 2 , which may be the same or different, each represents an aliphatic group and at least one of R 1 and R 2 is an aliphatic group containing a carboxyl group or a sulfo group; and at least one sensitizing dye represented by the formula (II) ##EQU2## wherein Z 3 and Z 4 which may be the same or different, each represents a group of atoms necessary to complete a thiazole nucleus, a benzothiazole nucleus or a benzoselenazole nucleus; and R 3 and R 4 , which may be the same or different, each represents an aliphatic group and at least one of R 3 and R 4 is an aliphatic group containing a carboxyl group or a sulfo group.
