Abstract

Abstract Fire retardant qualities are incorporated into polyester fibers by adding to the polymer, prior to spinning thereof into filaments, not more than about 20 percent, based on the weight of the polymer, of a compound containing two six membered phosphorus-containing heterocyclic rings having carbon, oxygen and phosphorus in the heterocyclic ring.
