Abstract
Abstract A binder suitable for use in the binding of non-basic refractory aggregate, for example, magnesia, and comprising a mixture of a calcium aluminate and a water soluble aluminium phosphate, for example, a complex phosphate of aluminium containing one or more chemically bound molecules of water and/or one or more chemically bound oxygen-containing organic molecules, and at least one acidic anion other than phosphate.
