Claim 1
Independent Claim
142 words
A composition comprising a solution having a Brookfield viscosity of between about 2000 centipoise and about 150,000 centipoise of a chlorosulfonated polyethylene in at least one monomer selected from the class consisting of acrylic or methacrylic monomers, and 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of the composition of a polymerization catalyst selected from the class consisting of organic peroxides and organic hydroperoxides, and 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of the composition of 2,6-di-t-butyl-4-methylphenol, the weight ratio of said polymerization catalyst to said 2,6-di-t-butyl-4-methylphenol being within the range of about 1 to 1 to 4 to 1, said chlorosulfonated polyethylene containing about 25 to 70 weight percent chlorine, and about 3 to 160 millimoles of sulfonyl chloride moiety per 100 g. of polymer, and being made from polyethylene having a melt index in the range of about 0.1 to 500 g/10 minutes.
