Abstract
Abstract A mechanism is presented by means of which the uppermost sheet from a stack of sheets may be dispensed without excessive friction of the sheets against each other. It may advantageously be incorporated in a dispenser for radiographic film which may be installed in daylight conditions. In order to perform a loading cycle automatically, auxiliary expedients are described, particularly concerning the opening and closing of the radiographic cassette.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
92 words
dispensing means operative in said magazine section to deliver film from said magazine section into said cassette, 5. light shielding means disposed generally between said two housing sections for movement between an operative closed position isolating said magazine section from said loading section and an open position in which the two sections are in communication, and 6. operating means for said shielding means effective in response to the arrival and departure of said cassette to and from its loading position to move said shielding means to and from its operative closed position.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
92 words
dispensing means operative in said magazine section to deliver film from said magazine section into said cassette, 5. light shielding means disposed generally between said two housing sections for movement between an operative closed position isolating said magazine section from said loading section and an open position in which the two sections are in communication, and 6. operating means for said shielding means effective in response to the arrival and departure of said cassette to and from its loading position to move said shielding means to and from its operative closed position.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
52 words
The cassette loader of claim 1 wherein said loading section includes a cassette carriage disposed for movement to and from a projected exteriorly accessible position to the placement of a cassette therein from and to a retracted position with the cassette in loading position and at which said loading section is closed.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
29 words
The cassette loader of claim 2 in which said carriage has mounted thereon actuating means for operating said shielding means operating means as said carriage reaches its retracted position.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
29 words
The cassette loader of claim 1 wherein said operating means includes biasing means returning said shielding means to its closed position when said cassette departs from its loading position.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
169 words
The daylight film loader as in claim 1 wherein said supply section has an opening at an end thereof opposite said light shielding means for the introduction therein of a magazine containing a stack of sheets of fresh film, said magazine comprising a generally shallow container having side walls and front and back end walls upstanding from a planar bottom wall on which said stack of sheets rests, and a top wall normally closing said container against entry of light, at least a front portion of said top wall being supported for relative sliding movement in the plane of said top wall to provide an opening adjacent the front container end for removal of the film sheets therefrom, said slidable top wall portion having a projection extending therefrom adjacent its front edge, and said loading section having detent means operable to engage said projection to slidably open and close said wall portion when said magazine is introduced into and removed from said loading section through said end opening therein.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
63 words
The daylight film loader as in claim 5 wherein said projection comprises an exteriorly projecting lip and said detent means comprises opposed front and back detent surfaces engagable with opposite sides of said lip upon movement of said magazine container in opposite directions, said back detent surfaces being movable out of the path of said lip to permit passage of the lip therebeyond.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
35 words
The daylight film loader as in claim 6 including inclined cam surfaces associated with said back detent surfaces for engagement by said lip to displace said back detent surfaces for passage of said lip therebeyond.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
34 words
The daylight film loader as in claim 5 wherein said container has a slotted rear top wall section fixed to said side and back walls for telescopingly receiving said slidable front top wall section.
