Abstract
Abstract Dense silica-encapsulated aluminum flake pigment in aqueous suspension is treated with a carboxylic chromic chloride. Such treated pigment is stabilized against gassing when in contact with water. Aqueous-based coating compositions containing such pigment exhibit improved storage stability.
